SoftBank Robotics Corp. and its affiliates (“we”, “our”, or “us”) recognizes the importance of data protection for our customers (“you” or “your”) and has established this Privacy Policy to appropriately process the personal data that we collect from our customers in connection with the use of our service, “SoftBank Robotics Connect” and “SmartBX Connect” (the “Service”), in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”), the UK General Data Protection Regulation (the “UK GDPR”), the Privacy Act 1988 of Australia (the “Privacy Act”), and other applicable data protection laws and regulations (collectively, the “Applicable Laws”).

  • Account registration and profile information: information provided by customer employees when creating or managing an account for the Service, which may include company name, country or region, time zone, name, email address, job title, telephone number, and login credentials such as passwords or customer IDs.
  • Contact details for service operation: telephone numbers or similar contact information used to communicate with on-site workers involved in the operation of the Service.
  • Location and sensor data: data generated by sensors or similar technologies, which may include time-stamped location information, movement patterns, device or tag identifiers, and related technical metadata (such as zone entry/exit times or the number of times a device entered a specific area).

2.  Purposes of Use of Personal Data and Legal Grounds for Processing

We collect and process personal data for the following purposes of use in connection with the Service. Such processing is based on the necessity for the performance of a contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in carrying out our business, and our legal obligations.

For Australian residents: if you consent to the International Transfer, the principle regarding the international transfer of personal data under the Privacy Act will not apply. We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected your personal data. To determine the appropriate retention period for the personal data, we will consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of the personal data, the purposes for which we process the personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.


8.  Rights for Disclosure, Correction, Addition, Deletion etc., of Personal Data
